What types of shares should I have?
Generally, as a beginner, you should start your share portfolio with less risky shares or exchange traded funds. A typical core investment is made up of the following.
Shares in large blue chip companies
In general, the lower risk shares of large companies produce lower returns than their small company counterparts, but because of their size and stability, they tend to be more predictable and they also pay regular dividends.
