FNB Care was instrumental in getting eight young South African Varsity Cup captains together in Eldorado Park recently, at Missouri Laan Secondary School.
"It was a huge privilege for us to host the Varsity Cup captains and give them an overview of just some of the projects and non-profit organisations (NPOs) we support," said Johannita McLeod from FNB Care. "The captains were introduced to three FNB-supported projects that deeply affect the Eldorado Park community."
Hilary Leong from Awareness for Child Trafficking Africa (ACT Africa) and Gloria Stewart from the Eldorado Park Family Crisis Centre (EPFCC) shared the difficult work they do on a daily basis in the local community - primarily dealing with GBVF (gender-based violence and femicide) and child trafficking.
Living Kids Sports Academy had a motivational talk and led a short training session with the Varsity Cup captains and school learners. Their aim as an academy is to give young children hope for their future, through participating in sport.
The Varsity Cup captains pledged their support to make a difference and support the fight against GBV. We thank them for their willingness to make a difference in the lives of young women and children in South Africa.
