Despite significant changes, many SMEs still face immense challenges in the current marketplace. These include limited access to resources and skills, difficulty reaching new customers, economic uncertainty leading to cash flow shortages, and complex legal requirements and regulations.
FNB considered the situation and decided we should do something about it.
Introducing Helponomics™ - an ecosystem of collaborative support to assist SMEs in a meaningful way. It's a form of Ubuntu, where together we can create an environment in which businesses actively help each other, share resources, and collaborate. Whether it's through sharing best practices, referring clients, or simply providing moral support, every action contributes to a stronger, more resilient SME sector.
What does it mean for your business?
Helponomics™ is a circular system of help based on the principles of sharing, reuse, and renewal. It focuses on resources, learnings, and best practices, employing referrals to form productive networks, and helping each other find more effective ways to do things.
Through Helponomics™, you can tap into networks that might otherwise be out of reach, opening doors to new partnerships and markets. You also get to add your voice to a larger collective, increasing the likelihood of positive change in the business environment. This advocacy ensures that the challenges faced by SMEs are heard, considered, and addressed at both local and national levels.
Business advice content from both FNB and the community form integral parts of Helponomics™, equipping you with the skills and insights to grow and sustain your business.
We plan to promote the Helponomics™ programme through various channels, including regional events, live-streamed events, business skills workshops and masterclasses, podcasts, and downloadable resources, and our business education platform Fundaba on the FNB App. We will be partnering with industry leaders like Google , Takealot and Proudly South Africa. In addition to all this, we will enlist entrepreneurial assistance from I am an Entrepreneur, Hetty the entrepreneur, StartUp Club, Art of Scale and more.
By getting your business, yourself, your family and colleagues involved, you not only enhance your own business' prospects but also contribute to the economic vitality of South Africa. Even simple actions like taking a selfie at a local shop, acknowledging good service, and writing a positive Google review can significantly impact any business' success.
Together, we can create a supportive, equitable, and vibrant entrepreneurial landscape where every small business has the opportunity to succeed. Because when you help a small business, you help South Africa - and help changes everything.
Our 'Monetise Your Business' workshops with Hetty The Entrepreneur and I Am An Entrepreneur summits have already kicked off, and will be taking place all over South Africa.
